1. Market research

This is probably the most crucial stage of the blueprint.

• Identify niche market. The more focused the niche the better.
• Determine the size of the target niche market. How big is the demand?
• How fierce is the competition in the targeted niche? Who are they?

2. Website creation

There are many types of websites and tools which can be used in internet marketing. The key here is to understand how each functions and identify which of them you are more comfortable with. Among the many types of websites:

• Blogs
• Minisites
• eCommerce

Blogs and minisites are the two that is largely used by internet marketers. The two are used to provide information related to the targeted niche. The common tools in use to create web pages today are:

• Blogger
• Wordpress
• NVU

When starting up, you’d probably need to get your hands on some web templates.

3. Website traffic generation

Putting up a website is probably among the easiest part of the online business journey. Once you have the website up and running, you will then need to bring traffic to it. Similar to an offline business, your online business will not be making any sale if no one knows about it or comes looking. There are many ways to bring traffic to your website.  Work on them and you will get traffic which you can then convert into sales.

• Search engine optimization
• Article marketing
• Comment marketing

There are a few more traffic generation methods. However, the above is sufficient to get you tons of traffic for starters.

4. Website monetization

Besides making sales of your own product on the website, you could also monetize it with other methods. Among the available web monetizing methods are:

• Google Adsense - This is probably the most famous of the lot.  Learn about Google Profits, and you can add more income from your website.
• Ad slots - If you have a website that gets a large number of visitors, you could sell advertising slots on it.
• Affiliate marketing - You don’t really need your own product to sell online. Be an affiliate marketer and sell other people’s products instead.

5. Tracking and monitoring

In the world of Online Business, you need to monitor and track the performance of your internet business sites. The reason for tracking and monitoring is simple. You monitor and track to understand how your visitors are reacting to your web pages. You track where your visitors are coming from. You track which pages are converting into sales. There are various web statistic providers out there.

• Google Analytics
• Statcounter
• AdMinder
• HyperTracker

6. Automation

Once your website is up and running, you should then focus on automating your work. Among the tools to use in automating your online business are:

• Autoresponders and Email marketing systems
• Content automation

Once you’ve got your automation configured, you can then think about focusing on another niche market. Basically repeat all that you’ve done in your first niche all over again.

Truly, if I had not attended the Bootcamp, I would not have any clue to all the things mentioned above. Without the guidance of a mentor, I would probably still be groping with all the information above. The 3 days mentoring has enabled me to put all the information into their respective place in the blueprint.

In my bid to obtain as much information as I can possibly get off the internet, I downloaded numerous eBooks about internet marketing and online business. I enlisted into every other mailing lists that offers free eBooks. I joined several JV Giveaway events. I got into a routine of download ebook, read ebook, download ebook, read ebook. However, soon after that, it became more of just download, download, and more downloads.

My email was filled up with AutoResponder emails from all the list I joined. My inbox was filling up faster than I could clear it. I’m receiving like about 200+ emails from all the various internet marketing lists daily. It took me a couple of hours just to clear my daily inbox.

With most of the time spent on just clearing my inbox, I didn’t have time to read the ebooks which I’ve downloaded. My disk drive is now filled with various Internet Marketing eBooks. I’ve got so many now, I don’t even know which ones to read first. Maybe I should create an eBook of my own.

To make time for reading, I thus then got into the practice of just skimming through the emails and related websites. If the subject matter is new, I’d spend more time on it. Otherwise, I’ll just glance through and delete it. The same goes with the eBooks I’ve downloaded. I would just skim through the pages and quickly absorb the information. Once done, I would move on to the next eBook.

Then it occured to me. I now have all these information and resources on Internet Marketing. I’ve read about Search Engine Optimization. I’ve read about making Google Profits with Ads and Pay Per Click. I’ve read about Affiliate Marketing. The question that came to my mind then was - “How do I make all these information to work for me? How do I start my online internet business?”

I realized then, that I need to find myself a mentor or coach to guide me in this Online Business Journey. Self study is fine if all I needed was just information. I need more than that. I needed a guide to show me how to put all this information to work.

Five years ago, I would never have thought that I would actually run a business of my own. As a matter of fact, the idea of owning a business never even crossed my mind. That is until the middle of last year (2007). It all started when my darling wife became interested in beads craft. We both agreed that she should first attend a beading class and learn the craft.

After the class, she began producing her beads crafts and made quite a number of sales. I then thought of creating an e-commerce website to promote her crafts. Thus, my first venture into online business started. I bought a domain and web hosting. Installed ZenCart and started putting up the products into the website.

We had no marketing knowledge. The only marketing effort we made was only to our close friends and relatives. Most of them were not even internet savvy. Hence, the website was basically a flop. All our sales, even now, comes from word of mouth marketing.

It so happens that I had to move my blog from the server it was running on. I was then introduced to the remarkable robustness of Wordpress. The introduction to Wordpress gave me an idea about offering a web hosting and design service. I quickly learned everything there is to learn about using Wordpress as a Content Management System. I’ve also gotten to learn about Affiliate Marketing with Wordpress.

I now have a small number of clients on my hosting and web design projects. Nothing big. They are just small companies and some blogging accounts. All running on Wordpress.

We now have a beading crafts and also website design and hosting business running online. Two online business running without any formal marketing effort. Needless to say, they both did not do very well in the online business world.

I learned a huge lesson from the two projects mentioned. An online business is pretty much similar to its offline counterpart. You need to market it in order to get sales. I realized then, I need to learn about marketing an online business. I need to learn Internet Marketing. Thus, begins my journey into Internet Marketing Online Business.

Truth is, there are many factors concerning backlinks that can affect your pageranking. Some say you need to get backlinks from pages that are relevant to yours. Is that really true? How about backlinks from Web Directories? Are they relevant to any of the pages or sites they link to?

How about the “nofollow” attributes? Are backlinks with this attribute set counted into the pagerank formula?

Then there is this Linkback Project. Will it increase your pagerank? Will it increase traffic? Let’s find out, shall we? If this works out, it is then one more method to get free backlinks to your website.

This is a simple procedure. You might have seen it done elsewhere on a few scarce weblogs. What is different, is that when we reach a certain point on the list, we start yet another one. Instead of one master list and its done, we will repeat the process over and over again, with new folks jumping on board. My first three articles submitted to eZine have not been without problems. I had a tough time getting them approved. I had to resubmit the articles three times before they were approved. The good thing about it is I get to learn a few things about rules of article directories with regards to links and keywords. These lessons I’ve learned, I thus, expose them here for you to learn with me.

My experience is somewhat limited to eZine Articles, as that is currently the only article directory I’m submitting to. I believe the same set of rules apply to most other article directories. Perhaps with a slight difference, though.

Here’s one thing in particular you have got to be aware of when submitting your articles to eZine Articles. Be wary of the number of links you have in your articles.

eZine allows a maximum of 4 total links in your article. This includes a maximum of 2 links in your resource box. Of the 4 links, a maximum of only 2 links to sites you own. These two of course, are to usually located in your resource box. Thus, you are left with 2 links to sites which you don’t own to be inserted in the body of your article.

i. Maximum of (2) “Self-Serving” active or inactive links/URLs to a website that you own, control, or have an interest in.

ii. Maximum of (2) active non-self serving links to a website that you do not own, control, or have an interest in which adds value to the article.

iii. Confine your self-serving links to your RESOURCE BOX.

iv. We do not accept articles with active or inactive links in the first 1-3 paragraphs. Please put your active links in the resource box below the article body. The article BODY is your “GIVE” and the RESOURCE BOX is your “TAKE.”

When you first write your article, you would probably have the tendency to insert your keyword in abundance in your article. I know I did. Here’s the thing, though. The article directories need to ensure that their articles are of high quality.

In order for them to maintain this quality, they need to ensure that their articles are not keyword spams. Keyword spams are articles where the keywords are stuffed in abundance into the article body.

eZine Articles limits the number of keywords appearing in any of their articles. So when you write your article, ensure that you spread your keywords around. The limit is one keyword per 100 words. The way around this, is to use your keyword synonyms in place of your keywords.

There are probably more rules to adhere to when writing your articles. The above are the ones which I came across with so far. After which I quickly took to reading the eZine Articles’ Editorial Guidelines.

How do you do this? Well, you can try and get that casual web visitor to fill in a form with their contact information. After which you will constantly write an email to each of them and send the email out manually. Not very practical if you end up with hundreds or thousands of prospects right? Some autoresponder systems utilize a Double Opt-In process. This prevents you and your company from being blacklisted for spam. Your subscribers are required to confirm their subscription prior to being added into your list. Your list is then ensured to have only names of those who are genuinely interested with what you offer. Thus, it is almost a guarantee that your lists are clean and profitable for you.

Monitor Your Sales
Your autoresponder marketing software will surely have some form to monitor your marketing campaigns. If they don’t, I’d recommend that you subscribed to another autoresponder system that has this Monitor Sales feature. With this tracking and monitoring function, you get to see how many of your subscribers are actually buying from you. You can visualize your sales performance for any given time periods. Your are presented with a graphical statistics of your marketing campaigns. This graphical representation allows you to easily analyze how your online business is performing.
